Momma Quail introduced her 15+ (I lost count after 15) baby chicks to me on Friday and kept us company over the weekend, running all around the farmhouse grounds, eating bugs and pecking at grass seed.  She is not very sociable and ruffled her feathers and ran at me when I got too close, however.  Her brood and another stately couple (male and female) have free run of the farmhouse grounds. If you click on the picture you can see a couple of the baby chicks just to the right of Mrs. Hen.

Little chicks as they scurry across open cover. (I apologize for the quality of the photo. It was taken through a screen door.)
