Took advantage of having the children home for the Thanksgiving holidays and put them to work tearing out the old bath.  Since the house was built in the early 1900’s, there originally was not a “bathroom”.  One was added on the back porch at some point in time as is evident by the clapboard siding found on the wall just behind the tub area. The tub  that we hauled out of that small area was the cast iron model – meant to remain long after the house had fallen down around it!

All the interior of the bathroom will eventually come down in order that all new can go back up — walls, ceiling and some of the floor.  About the only thing salvageable is the toilet!  Jack suggested that we just go back to the original — a back porch with an outhouse out back.  (I don’t think so!)
